The idea of Kabreeze was born in 2007 and officially became a business in March 2008. Karen Johnson, CPA is the founder and owner of Kabreeze.
While Kabreeze is a new business, Karen has been preparing tax returns for more than ten years on a volunteer basis for the IRS VITA program, friends, family, and colleagues. During the 2010 tax season, she earned the IRS VITA certifications for Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Military, and International federal tax return preparation.
Karen also has more than nine years of experience in the field of internal auditing. In her role as an internal auditor, she assisted in evaluating and monitoring the risk management, reporting, and control practices of her employer. She also recommended improvements to the organization's finance function, operations, and systems. Her audit projects ranged from compliance audits of small service agencies to comprehensive operational audits of large county departments with multi-million dollar budgets.
